Kevätpäivien ohjelma:

Lauantai 27.4.

Aamupäivä

Luonto- ja historiaretki Pumpulikirkolle lumikengillä

Pumpulikirkon parkkipaikalle ajetaan autoilla kimppakyydeillä noin 8 kilometriä metsätietä. Parkkipaikalta pumpulikirkolle on 1,5 kilometrin matka, joka kuljetaan lumikengillä edestakaisin, eli yhteensä 3 kilometrin matka. Retken pituus on 3 tuntia.

Pumpulikirkko on geologinen muodostuma, jonka jääkauden sulamisvaiheen vedet ovat synnyttäneet. Kyse on suuresta hiidenkirnusta, joka on myöhemmin romahtanut yhdeltä sivultaan ja saanut näin poikkeavan muodon. Loppumatka Pumpulikirkkoon kulkee kalliosolan pohjalla, mikä antaa paikalle korostetun jylhän vaikutuksen. Sola on varjoisa, lumenpiipymä paikka, jossa saattaa säilyä lumi pitkälle kesään. Valaistus ja kosteus antavat hyvät kasvuolosuhteet sammalille. Punarinta viihtyy hyvin ympäristössä ja pikkusieppoa ja peukaloista on tavattu silloin tällöin. Kesto on noin 3 h.

Korutyöpaja

Valmistetaan paikallisen asiantuntevan ohjaajan opastuksella koru tai amuletti kotiin vietäväksi. Materiaalina käytetään juukalaista vuolukiveä. Kesto on noin 2–3 h.

Pajatyö

Valmistetaan paikallisen asiantuntevan ohjaajan opastuksella pieni metallinen muistoesine kotiin vietäväksi. Kesto on noin 2–3 h.

“Mehtä” pakopeli

Kisaillaan Mehtä-pakopelin merkeissä Metsäkartanon pihalla. Hauska, leikkimielinen kisailu saa jalat liikkeelle ja aivosolut töihin, eikä naurukohtauksiltakaan ole vältytty! Luontotietämyksestä on hyötyä. Pelin kesto on noin 45 minuuttia.

Iltapäivä

Ennallistamistyöpaja

Soiden ennallistaminen ja kosteikkojen rakentaminen lisää luonnon monimuotoisuutta, vähentää metsätalouden vesistökuormaa ja lisää hiilinieluja. Työpajassa tutustutaan päällisin puolin ennallistamisen suunnitteluun, toteutukseen ja vaikutuksiin. Kesto on noin 1,5 h.

Kesto on noin 1,5 h.

Karjalanpiirakoiden teko

Leivotaan Euroopan unionin aidoksi perinnetuotteeksi rekisteröityjä karjalanpiirakoita vegaanisella reseptillä paikallisen asiantuntevan ohjaajan opastuksella. Piirakat nautitaan seuraavan ruokailun yhteydessä. Kesto on noin 2 h.

Kesto on noin 2 h.

Ilta

Musiikkia ja perinnetanssia

Lauantai-iltana saamme kuunnella salissa perinteistä musiikkia, kun Metsäkartanon musisoijat soittavat perinteistä ja tanssittavaa musiikkia. Musiikkia kuunnellessa halukkaat voivat osallistua perinteisiin ryhmätansseihin. Lisäksi saamme kuulla muutamia kappaleita paikalliselta Duo Ikiruuhelta.

Sunnuntai 28.4.

Varhaisaamun linturetki

Varhaisen aamun linturetki halukkaille sunnuntaiaamuna ennen klo 8 alkavaa aamupalaa.
Ota omat kiikarit mukaan!

Luontoliiton kerhohetki

Tervetuloa luontokerhoon! Kerhossa osallistujat pääsevät heittäytymään luontoaiheisten tehtävien ja leikkien maailmaan. Ohjelma on suunniteltu valmiiksi, joten pääset vain hypähtämään kerholaisen rooliin. Kesto on noin 1 h.

Työpaja pidetään englanniksi, mutta voit osallistua kaikkiin keskusteluihin suomeksi, me käännämme tarvittaessa! Työpaja kestää noin 1,5 h.

Kevätseurantahetki

Tule tutustumaan klassiseen Kevätseurantaan! Tämän vuoden teemana on muuttuva metsä. Kesto noin 1–1,5 h.

Työpaja: ihmiskuvien ansat ja mahdollisuudet ympäristötoiminnassa

“Ihminen on maailman syöpä!” Kesto on noin 1,5h.

Meditaatiohetket

Ohjelmanumeroiden välissä ja esimerkiksi iltaisin on mahdollisuuksia osallistua meditaatiohetkiin. Teemme kehollisia rentoutuksia ja tarjoamme kehomielen työkaluja jaksamiseen. Tervetuloa minilomalle, jossa saa hetken rentoutua ja rauhoittua.

Description of the programme activities

Saturday 27.4.

Morning

Nature and history trip to Pumpulikirkko on snowshoes

We will drive in cars for about 8 km to the closest parking space to Pumpulikirkko from Metsäkartano. From the parking lot to Pumpulikirkko is a 1,5 km walk, which is done on snowshoes back and forth, for a total of 3 km.

Pumpulikirkko is a geological formation created by the waters of the glacial melt. It is a large “Giant’s kettle” which has later collapsed on one side, giving it an extraordinary shape. The final stretch to the Pumpkin Church runs along the bottom of a rocky gorge, which gives the site an added sense of grandeur. The gorge is a shady, snow-covered place where snow may remain well into the summer. Lighting and humidity provide good growing conditions for mosses. Robins are common in the environment and red-breasted flycatchers and Eurasian wren have been seen occasionally. The duration of the trip is about 3 h.

Jewelry workshop

Make a piece of jewellery or an amulet to take home with you under the guidance of a local expert. The material used is soapstone from Juuka. The duration of the workshop is about 2-3 h.

Metal forging workshop

Make a small metal souvenir to take home with you under the guidance of a local expert. The instructor will start with safety and forging instructions, and then you get to forge a real forge. The duration of the workshop is about 2-3 h.

Afternoon

Restoration workshop

Restoring peatlands and building wetlands increases biodiversity, reduces the water impact of forestry and increases carbon sinks. The workshop will cover the main aspects of restoration planning, implementation and impacts. The duration is about 1,5 h.

Buy nothing day workshop

Launched by Luontoliitto in Finland, “Buy nothing day” is celebrated on the last Friday of November as a counter-campaign against Black Friday consumer hysteria. The workshop will brainstorm activities and campaigning for the day and develop content both across local groups across the whole organisation. The duration is about 1,5 h.

Escape game (forest themed)

We will compete in a forest-themed escape game in the yard of Metsäkartano. Fun, playful racing gets your legs moving and your brain cells working. Knowledge of nature is useful in the game. The duration of the game is about 45 minutes.

Baking vegan Karelian pies

Bake Karelian pies registered as a traditional product of the European Union with a vegan recipe under the guidance of an expert local instructor. The pies will be enjoyed at the next meal. The duration is about 2 h.

Snowshoe trip to old-growth forest

The old-growth forests of Joutenus Pond and Luokkikangas are located south-east of Tiilikkajärvi National Park along a forest road network. We carpool first to Joutenus and then continue on snowshoes. We explore the surroundings and get to know the features of the old-growth forest. If the schedule allows it, we will also visit the old-growth forest of Luokkikangas. The birdlife in the area includes the greenish warbler, the Eurasian wren, the red-breasted flycatcher, the Eurasian three-toed woodpecker, the Siberian jay, the rustic bunting and the red-flanked bluetail. If you have your own snowshoes, bring them along. You may also bring your own loop magnifying glass and binoculars. The duration is about 2 hours.

Evening

Music and traditional dance

On Saturday evening, we can listen to traditional music in the hall, as the musicians of Metsäkartano play traditional and dance music. While listening to the music, those who wish can take part in traditional group dances. We will also hear some songs from the local Duo Ikiruuhi. Ikiruuhi celebrates the Finno-Ugric song tradition in their music and sings nature themed songs.

Sunday 28.4.

Early morning bird trip

Early morning birdwatching trip on Sunday morning before 8 AM breakfast. Bring your own binoculars!

Nature club session

Welcome to participate in a Luontoliitto nature club for one hour! The session allows participants to throw themselves into a world of nature-themed activities and games in a similar way as children do in Luontoliitto nature clubs. The programme is pre-planned, so you can just jump into the role of a club member. The duration is about 1 h.

Workshop on influencing forest policy

Are you interested in forests in Finland and the ways policy affects them? EU elections are coming and now is a good time to learn more and speak up!

In this workshop you will learn about the state of Finland’s forests, EU and Finnish decision making bodies, forest stakeholders, what laws affect our forests and ways to influence.  Participation does not require any prior knowledge of the subject. The workshop will be held in English, but you can join all the conversations in Finnish, and we will do our best to translate whenever needed! The workshop takes around 1,5 h.

Spring observation trip

Come and learn about a classic Luontoliitto activity: Spring Observation! This year’s theme is the changing forest. You’ll get to learn new things about spring observation in a relaxed way, test your species knowledge and possibly plan your own spring excursions. We’ll start indoors and continue outdoors to explore the local wildlife. Duration is about 1-1,5 h.

Workshop: the pitfalls and opportunities of human images in environmental action

“Humans are the cancer of the world!” – Or are we? In the media as well as in everyday conversations, we constantly reinforce, construct and deconstruct different stories about what it means to be human in this world. Some of these images of humanity are quite negative and do not encourage us to see humanity as part of nature and humans as capable of contributing to the well-being of other species. What could be encouraging stories and examples of humanity? Come to the workshop to find out! In this workshop, we will reflect together on different ways of seeing humanity and create constructive images of humanity that strengthen hope, a sense of connection with the rest of nature, and the will to act for the benefit of our shared planet. A warm welcome to you just as you are! The workshop will be led by Juni Sinkkonen, an ecopsychologist and expert on environmental feelings in Tunne ry. The duration is about 1,5h.

Meditation sessions

Between the programme sessions and in the evenings there are opportunities to take part in meditation sessions. We do bodily relaxations and offer mind-body tools for daily well-being. Welcome to a mini vacation where you can take a moment to relax and unwind.

OP Pohjois-Savo on mukana mahdollistamassa tapahtumaa.
