According to a joint project by Finnish forestry and environmental organisations in 1999, 3,6% of Finnish forest land is protected against loggings. Forestry organisations and their partners, for example Ministry of Forestry etc. are using 6,6% figure in their propaganda when talking about protected Forests in Finland. However, this figure tells joint protection percent of all forest and scrubland. Endangered forest species do not benefit on protected scrublands (poorly productive forests in other words). Poorly productive forests do not benefit forestry either. According to forest ecologists, protected areas should cover at least 10% of forest land in each forest vegetation zone. For
